The vision for this exceptional home was clear: to create an atmosphere of refined opulence where craftsmanship met modern living. At the heart of this vision were the bespoke internal doors—crafted not merely as functional elements but as architectural statements in their own right.
Denleigh was entrusted with the task of designing and producing 33 handcrafted internal doors, seamlessly uniting the doors, such as the study, drawing room, cinema room, formal dining room and more. This was more than just a project; it was a celebration of tailored design, where the doors would become defining features of each space.
The Essence of Bespoke Craftsmanship
The homeowner, collaborating closely with interior design firm Halo Design, envisioned doors that would seamlessly merge heritage craftsmanship with modern sophistication. Denleigh’s design consultant, Cullen Wiley, played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life, conducting extensive consultations with the clients and their representatives to refine design details and material selections. To guarantee a flawless fit and seamless integration with the property’s architectural features, Cullen also carried out comprehensive site surveys ahead of production. Every aspect, from bespoke detailing to precision engineering, was meticulously planned to ensure the final result met the highest standards of craftsmanship and elegance.
Each door was crafted with raised & fielded panel style, enhanced by large bolection mould, a hallmark of classical refinement. To further elevate their grandeur, clear glass glazed aperture panels with side screens (sidelights) were incorporated, allowing light to flow effortlessly between rooms while maintaining an air of exclusivity.
A true testament to bespoke excellence, the doors were constructed from specially selected, richly stained oak, exuding warmth and depth. Their stature was equally impressive, with varying heights between 2040mm and 2250mm, ensuring perfect proportions across the home’s architecture.
Luxury Meets Performance
Beyond aesthetics, these doors were designed to meet the highest standards of safety and functionality. A mix of FD30 and FD60 fire-rated doors was incorporated, providing discreet yet essential fire protection without compromising on the seamless elegance of the overall design.
The bespoke TRAD-609, our signature design format, were expertly crafted to accommodate custom panel proportions, ensuring seamless alignment of the ironmongery with the existing architectural framework. Every detail, from panel depth to beading placement, was curated with meticulous precision.
The Finishing Touch: A Statement in Every Room
To achieve a balance of sophistication and subtlety, the doors were finished with a 15% sheen—a soft, satin-like glow that enhanced the rich tones of the large bolection raised and fielded panels. Paired with UK-sourced luxury ironmongery, the result was a set of doors that not only framed each space but became a focal point of the home itself.
Nowhere was this more evident than in the cinema room, where the doors provided a grand entrance into a space designed for indulgence and relaxation. Their presence added to the immersive atmosphere, setting the tone for an intimate yet opulent entertainment experience.
A Legacy of Luxury
The Wentworth project is a shining example of Denleigh’s commitment to bespoke craftsmanship—where no detail is too small, and no request too ambitious. These doors are more than just passageways; they are masterpieces of design, each one telling a story of luxury, exclusivity, and unparalleled attention to detail.
For those who appreciate the art of true craftsmanship, this grand home stands as a testament to the power of bespoke design—where luxury is not just seen but felt in every finely crafted detail.
