North London Luxury Residence
Bespoke High-Gloss Doors & Architectural Ironmongery
Denleigh was commissioned to design and supply a bespoke internal door package for an exceptional private luxury residence in North London
The interior scheme centred around strong geometric detailing, stepped profiles and carefully integrated metal accents. Our challenge was to translate these design principles into a bespoke door package that would remain visually consistent throughout the home while accommodating different configurations, opening sizes and performance requirements. The result was a collection of luxury internal doors that seamlessly combined design, craftsmanship and technical performance.
Bespoke High-Gloss Black Doors
At the heart of the project is a bespoke adaptation of Denleigh's TRAD-609 three-panel door design. Each door was manufactured in a striking RAL 9005 high-gloss black lacquer finish, creating a bold architectural statement throughout the property. To complement the dramatic finish, every principal door incorporated 8mm antique brass T-profile inlays, introducing warmth, contrast and refined detailing. The recessed stepped mouldings within each panel echoed the wider interior design language, ensuring the doors felt fully integrated into the architecture rather than simply installed within it.

A Complete Bespoke Door Package

- Statement double-door sets
- Pocket and sliding doors
- Fire-rated and non-fire-rated doors
- Bespoke frames and linings
- Stepped architraves and plinth blocks
- Coordinated architectural ironmongery
In total, the specification covered 40 door locations across the residence, each carefully designed to maintain a consistent visual identity while responding to individual technical requirements.
Architectural Ironmongery & Brass Detailing
The antique brass detailing formed a defining feature of the completed scheme. Every principal door incorporated bespoke brass inlays designed to complement the home's wider palette of metal finishes, decorative elements and lighting. To ensure consistency, Denleigh also supplied a coordinated range of architectural ironmongery, including concealed hinges, flush pulls, edge pulls, locks and latches. Pocket door locations featured integrated flush pull systems, allowing the clean architectural aesthetic to continue uninterrupted. The result is a refined and cohesive interior where every detail works together to support the overall design vision.
Precision Manufacturing & Technical Coordination
Behind the finished appearance was a significant level of design development and technical coordination. The project included:- FD30 fire-rated doors
- Non-fire-rated doors
- Hinged and pocket door systems
- Multiple lock and privacy functions
- Varying frame depths and wall constructions
- Bespoke-sized openings throughout the property
Every element was developed to ensure technical performance without compromising the design intent.
Sample Approval Process
Given the importance of the finish, Denleigh produced dedicated approval samples before manufacture. This process allowed the design team to review the RAL 9005 high-gloss lacquer alongside the proposed brass detailing and ensured complete confidence before production commenced. For a finish of this quality, consistency is critical. The sample approval process ensured the final product achieved the exact appearance envisioned by the design team.
Supporting the Project Through Construction
As the project evolved, additional joinery elements were required to maintain consistency throughout the property. Denleigh supplied matching pocket door linings, architraves and plinth blocks finished to the same exacting standards as the original package. This ensured that late-stage additions integrated seamlessly with the established design scheme. Our continued involvement throughout the build helped maintain consistency across every phase of the project.
The Finished Result
The completed residence demonstrates the impact that truly bespoke doors and architectural ironmongery can have on luxury interiors. The combination of high-gloss black lacquer, stepped moulding details and antique brass inlays creates a distinctive visual rhythm throughout the property. Large double doors establish dramatic transitions between key spaces, while pocket doors allow the same design language to continue where space planning requires a different solution. Every detail from the bespoke brass inlays and architectural ironmongery to the matching architraves and plinth blocks, contributes to a home that feels carefully considered and beautifully cohesive.
